Mark McGwire will most likely be outside the Hall looking in for a long time. The majority of sportswriters are on record as being against his candidacy, but it will be very interesting on January 9 to see what percentage of "yes" votes he garners. Care to take a guess? Above 50% or below? I say below. Scott Miller of CBS Sportsline does a good job outlining the case against McGwire. ... (more)

The Bronx Bombers will pay a $26 million "over the limit" luxury tax for '06, raising the Yankees' total penalties to $97.75 million since 2002. The Red Sox were the only other team to face a luxury-tax charge, billed $497, 549 for a season in which the team didn't make the playoffs. ... (more)

Near nightclub row in the wee hours of the morning, a policeman saw Willis stop his Bentley, get out and relieve himself in the street. The 24-year-old pitcher then failed a field sobriety test and locked up in Miami-Dade County jail on $1,000 bond. ... (more)

The New York Yankees have decided to raise the price of premium seats and leave basic upper deck and bleacher seats the same for the third straight year. Diamonds are for Humor is a fun blog which understands the ticket-pricing issue is no laughing matter. Covering all baseball all-season, this humorous site is worth taking seriously.... (more)

One of the most fascinating, diverse blogs you'll discover, Archie Bunker's Army is a New York Mets saga worth your attention. It's authored by a fan who is originally from Holland, now lives in Britain, but whose heart resides in New York City. Jaap Stijl may have departed the Big Apple for England, but he knows the Mets inside and out and no blogger is more fervent. He always spices his posts with interesting photos and graphics, and you might get a taste of poetry thrown in for good measure. We salute the Army's fearless, intelligent style.
